About the system
European legislation is not a single code — it is a machine: institutions propose and adopt acts, agencies supervise and advise, and Member States transpose and enforce. This site maps that machine by area of interest (cyber, data, AI, …). These pages explain the shared plumbing underneath.
Two ways in
- Legislative process — how a Commission proposal becomes law, when it “applies”, and what transposition means for directives.
- Competent entities — which Commission DGs, EU agencies and national authorities sit behind the topic maps.
How this site uses that
Each area of interest has its own layered map of instruments (in force and proposals). The homepage wheel and the topbar Areas menu jump between them. Overlaps are normal: DORA appears under Cyber and matters for Finance; the DMA lives under Digital but Competition points to it.
