Commitment
theseeus.eu aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA and the harmonised European standard EN 301 549. This statement follows the structure used for public-sector accessibility statements in the EU. It is a self-assessment dated 2026-08-22, not a third-party audit.
Preparation of this statement
- Assessment date: 2026-08-22.
- Method: internal review of templates, keyboard paths, and automated checks (axe-core / pa11y in CI).
- Scope: the public static site, including the Situation desk tools.
Known gaps
- Situation desk tools (scope, compare, radar) are usable with a keyboard but are denser than the article pages; some dynamic tables are generated in the browser.
- Mermaid diagrams on content pages are informative; nearby prose carries the same meaning.
-
The site is English only (
en-GB). Official names in other languages appear where the source uses them.
Keyboard search shortcut
Pressing / opens site search. The shortcut does not fire while focus is in a text
field, select, or contenteditable region (WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.4). To disable it,
set localStorage["theseeus.searchShortcut"] = "off" in the
browser console on this origin, then reload. Clearing site data re-enables it.
Feedback
Report accessibility barriers via the disclosure page or the contact details on the legal notice. Describe the page, the problem, and the assistive technology if you use one.
