Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 replaces the 2006 Machinery Directive and updates machinery safety law for digitalised and AI-enabled machinery.
What it does (at a glance)
- Essential health & safety requirements covering machinery with self-evolving behaviour (machine learning).
- Cybersecurity-relevant requirements: safety functions must not be compromised by corruption (links to the CRA — see the Cyber area).
